FAQ for Pangolin Laptop Safes

Pangolin laptop safe FAQ's

If you like the idea of owning a Pangolin Vehicle Laptop Safe and you have a question not answered in the Pangolin L (Laptop Safe) Technical Specifications, we address common questions in the Laptop Safes FAQ's below. If not covered, please chat to us:

What size laptop will fit in the safe?

The Pangolin Laptop Safe (Pangolin L) is designed to hold up to 15.6" laptops. It can take two laptops, one placed on top of the other.

Can I get a Pangolin L safe for a 17" laptop?

Presently we do not manufacture a safe for 17" laptops, but would be pleased to receive your enquiry to help us establish if there is sufficient interest to produce a larger safe.

What is the warranty period on a Pangolin portable laptop safe?

The warranty on the Pangolin laptop safe (Pangolin L) is one year from date of purchase by original purchaser and covers any defect in materials or workmanship affecting your Pangolin safe, subject to the usual T&C's (e.g. does not cover abuse). This is also detailed in the manual.

Does the orientation of the laptop safe matter?

The safe can be installed horizontally or vertically according to preference. If the safe is opened in the vertical position it may be useful to fit a stay to hold the lid in a convenient position while inserting and removing your laptop.

How is the laptop safe attached to a vehicle?

The Isofix child seat tethers fitted to all passenger vehicles are used for anchoring a dock to which the safe is attached. To attach the dock, push the open mouth of the latches onto the Isofix tethers, one at a time, until you hear a click. Pull to test secure attachment. Place the safe on the dock such that the tabs on the dock enter the slots in the back of the safe. Open the safe and move the slide so that the bolts on the dock enter the safe. Release the slide to secure the safe onto the dock. To install the dock and safe in a different place in the vehicle, an Isofix Tether Replication Kit can be purchased separately and affixed to your vehicle where desired.

How is the laptop safe detached from the vehicle?

Open the safe and move the slide to release the bolts, then lift the safe to clear the bolts and detach from the dock. Once the safe is detached from the dock use the Pangolin key to release the latches from the Isofix tethers.

How many docks are included?

One Isofix dock is included when you purchase a Pangolin Laptop Safe. Additional Standard Vehicle Isofix docks (e.g. for moving your laptop safe between the back seat and boot) or Plain Fixed docks (for mounting on a flat surface like a wall in your office, or inside a cupboard) can be purchased separately.

What is the Tether Replication Kit for?

Our Isofix Tether Replication Kit enables you to install a tether point in a suitable position of your choice that does not have an Isofix point, allowing you to secure your detachable dock and safe to it.
